What We Do Not Claim

Setup
Ready in About 20 Minutes. Then it is just Fill and Pour.
- Rinse the new filter under cold water for 2 to 3 minutes to remove loose carbon dust.
- Soak it in a bowl of cold water for 10 to 15 minutes to prime the filter media.
- Insert seat the filter firmly in the housing inside the pitcher.
- Flush run cold water through and discard the first one or two batches. Then you are ready to drink.
- Ready for Use once the initial water has been discarded, your Pitcher of Life water pitcher is ready to provide fresh, alkaline water.

Each fill gives you 2.15 L of filtered water, about 73 oz or roughly 9 cups. The pitcher itself holds 3.8 L. That is more than typical filter pitchers, which the industry commonly sizes at 1.6 to 1.8 L.
Double-thick glass makes it sturdy and also heavier. It weighs 4 lb empty and 8.7 lb when completely full. If that is too much, fill it part way. The water is the same.

How much water does it hold?
The pitcher holds 3.8 L in total. Each fill of the filter chamber gives you about 2.15 L of filtered water, which is roughly 73 oz or 9 cups.
Does it remove lead, PFAS or fluoride?
The filter is certified to NSF/ANSI 42 (chlorine taste and odor, particulates) and NSF/ANSI 61 (material safety). We do not make lead, PFAS or fluoride reduction claims. If those are your concern, a free water report for your address is a good first step, and you may want a filter certified for them.
How alkaline will my water be?
The filter raises the pH of tap water. The exact result depends on your starting tap water, how much you pour through and how fresh the filter is. A pH test kit will show you your own number.
Are there proven health benefits from alkaline water?
We do not make medical claims. Many people simply prefer how alkaline water tastes and feels. If you have a health condition or take medication, talk to your doctor about what you drink.
How often do I replace the filter, and what does it cost?

Is it dishwasher safe?
Hand washing is recommended. Do not put the filter in the dishwasher.
It looks heavy. How heavy is it?
It is 4 lb empty and 8.7 lb completely full, because the glass is double thick. If that is too heavy for you, fill it part way.
Is it BPA-free?
The lid, the insert that holds the filter and the filter housing are made of BPA-free materials, and the body is glass.
What does the Flower of Life engraving do?
It is a design element: a sacred geometry symbol printed as a badge on the filter reservoir and engraved on the knob under the lid. Some people find it meaningful. It is not a filtration feature and we make no scientific claim about it.
